The Opportunity:


The RAIC is seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our team as a Marketing and Communications Manager. This is a full-time, permanent position.


Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for all communication touchpoints including the development and implementation of all RAIC marketing and communications strategies related to advertising, branding, product, and service promotion.


This individual will work with the marketing and communications team and staff to collaboratively co-create goals, strategies, and implementation plans to execute creative and effective marketing campaigns that communicate the unique value proposition of RAIC work, products, services, and events. This includes maintaining the brand integrity of the RAIC and strategically positioning the Institute as the only national voice for the architectural community, a trusted source of knowledge and professional resources for the architectural and design community, while establishing and ensuring its status as industry leader.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead, manage, and oversee a small team of communications and marketing professionals.
  • Align marketing efforts with RAIC strategic priorities across various channels.
  • Coordinate and manage all marketing and communication activities, including email, newsletters, website content, etc.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, results-driven communications strategy aligned with the RAIC corporate brand and strategic goals.
  • Lead campaign development for new and existing products, services, and activities, tracking campaign effectiveness and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with staff to create cohesive print and offline communication materials, support public relations initiatives, and manage the marketing and communications budget.
  • Project manage marketing campaigns, act as a resource for department leads, and stay current with architectural community needs to enhance RAIC's communication reach.
  • Develop and promote branding initiatives, maximize brand value, and ensure alignment of all products, services, and offerings with brand identity.
  • Provide innovation across all communication vehicles, identify new marketing strategies and collaborations, and ensure timely development and distribution of all materials.
  • Oversee the production of the RAIC Journal, provide content to other publications, act as the focal point for media relations, and coordinate website updates.
  • Prepare speeches, presentations, and reports for the Board of Directors and CEO, and coordinate RAIC events, activities, and communications with organizational partners.
  • Oversee editing and proofreading of communications materials, the translation of materials from English to French.
  • Other assigned duties.


Qualifications:


  • University degree in marketing, advertising, business administration, public relations, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with volunteer-intensive service operations.
  • Strong understanding of brand building and management.
  • Proven track record in successful e-mail marketing, Internet marketing, and direct marketing.
  • Proficiency in internet marketing techniques, technologies, and solutions.
  • Metrics-driven with excellent project management, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Broad experience in publishing for print and web-media (Magazines, Newsletters, Journals).
  • Exceptional presentation, copy-editing, and communication skills with a strong creative writing ability.
  • Direct experience with promotional video production, graphic and web design, and marketing-related software tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, CiviCRM, HubSpot, Drupal, Moodle, WordPress, and other relevant software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Diplomatic with solid negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with a customer service attitude.
  • High degree of energy, integrity, courage, empathy, and creativity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
  • Ability to remain calm and confident under pressure.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Ability to travel when required.
  • Experience in advocacy and government relations is an asset.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is preferred.


Compensation:


  • Starting salary: $70, 000.
  • Comprehensive benefits and RRSP matching program.
  • Four weeks vacation.
